Dunja Mladenic on Observing Global Social Dynamics through Event Monitoring

Information is available online presenting facts, expressing different views, giving more or less credible data. We are all interconnected and co-exist in the same global environment, interacting on different levels…we suggest to put efforts in becoming more aware of the environment we all live in via monitoring of worldwide events. Focusing on the events reported in electronic media, we see several challenges that motive research on text data analytics.
